By Donald Catlin There is a lot of buzz these days about controlled shooting in the game of craps. Some folks think it is a lot of crap and voice their opinion in about as cocky and obnoxious a manner as I have ever seen. Others, like me, believe it is a skill that is possible to achieve but does require a lot of instruction and practice. Anyone who seriously considers developing this skill should, ideally, attend a Golden Touch Dice Control Seminar.
I attended one of these in the fall of and was very happy with the instruction. You can read about this course and some stories related to controlled shooting in my December article entitled Rhythmic Rolling and The Gambler's Jamboree. What about those folks that don't feel that they can lay out the money for dice instruction at this time but would like to get started on controlled shooting?
There are two books that I own that deal with instruction on dice control and I recommend owning both of them. The first is the book Getting the Edge at Craps by Sharpshooter. I reviewed this book in my January of article simply entitled Sharpshooter so I won't say more about it here.
This is a wonderful addition to the world of controlled shooting. Both of these guys know what they are talking about because I have seen both of them in action and it was a profitable experience for me. Dominator is the best dice controller I have ever seen and Frank is right up there with him. As a result, this book is the next best thing to actually taking a Golden Touch seminar. The book has lots of information on many aspects related to craps: But, in my opinion, the single feature that makes this book outstanding is the inclusion of stunning photographs of dice delivery and you get to see what Dominator looks like as well.
These photos make it crystal clear how to set the dice, how to grip the dice, and especially how to deliver the dice. Probably the most stunning photo is the one on the cover of the book, which shows the dice in the air leaving Dominator's hand.
